National People's Congress Representatives from Macau Visited TNPJVC

  • On May 18th, Ho Iat Seng, representative of the National People's Congress (NPC) and President of Legislative Assembly of Macau Special Administrative.

    During the visit, TNPJVC reported to the delegation in terms of project overview, project progress, operations preparation, public communication and social responsibilities. The delegation visited the exhibition hall for public science popularization, learnt the theory of nuclear power generation, safety barriers and protection of nuclear power plant as well as the advancement and safety of the 3rd generation EPR nuclear power technology. Afterwards, the delegation visited the construction site of Taishan project and took a bird’s eye view over the entire construction site through 108-meter view platform.

    The delegation expressed concern about the clean energy projects development in Pearl River Delta area and recognized TNPJVC’s effort in driving the local economic development. Further knowledge about popular nuclear power science and the safety of the 3rd generation nuclear power technology were acquired through this in-depth visit. TNPJVC garnered acclaim for its openness, transparency and strict safety management.

    This visit to TNPJVC is part of the dedicated survey organized by General Office of NPC Standing Committee for Macau representatives of NPC to visit Guangdong province with focus on facilitating industrial transformation and industrial joint development following the comprehensive reform so as to stimulate the economic integrated development among Pearl River Delta, eastern, western and northern Guangdong. It is the second time that a Macau delegation visited TNPJVC after the last visit paid by Macau government and society delegation.
