Recently, 15 master’s first-year students and 8 French international students from IFCEN (China-France Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology) of Sun Yat-Sen University came to TSNP to join the 5-day compulsory course “Operation and Safety of Nuclear Power Plants” for postgraduate students. This course is specifically required for the graduate students under the framework of the “engineer education” talent training cooperation agreement signed by CGN and Sun Yat-Sen University, according to the teaching needs of IFCEN as well as the resources TSNP can offer.
This is the first time for the Training Department of TNPJVC to develop a course specific to the Chinese and French graduate students, fully considering the different language backgrounds of the trainees. The courses were provided in groups in Chinese, English and French. Meanwhile, French specialist of the Company was invited to teach as well.
The training course is divided into theory and hands-on practice, allowing the trainees to understand the operation knowledge of nuclear power units, the working methods of nuclear power and the professional ethics and competence that workers of nuclear sector should have.
At the end of the course, teachers and students of IFCEN fully recognized the content of the course. They were deeply impressed by the in-depth case analysis, thorough knowledge explanation and interesting hands-on practice of human error reduction.
