August 7 marked the 13th open day and brand event of CGN. At the main venue of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant in Shenzhen, CGN officially launched its research and study brand “Nuclear Light Together”. Representatives from CGN’s ten nuclear power plants signed the cooperation agreement for research and study with local education departments and partner institutions, accelerating the development of a collaborative ecosystem for nuclear power research and study guided by the government, led by enterprises, supported by the industry, and involving the society.

At the Taishan Nuclear Power site, ten parent-child pairs explored the mysteries of nuclear energy, including five “homecoming” parent-child pairs from Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas. Taishan Nuclear Power’s strategic partner for industrial research and study, Taizhilv (Taishan) Tourism Development Co., Ltd., has developed an industrial tourism and study route with local characteristics, highlighting the history of Taishan as a hometown of overseas Chinese and Taishan’s modern industrial achievements. The parent-child study group embarked on a one-day tour themed “Nuclear Power + Granary + Yinxin”.

At 10 a.m., the parent-child group first explored the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant. During the science popularization session, the children listened as engineer Chen Fanshun explained the principles of nuclear energy—from atomic structure to clean energy conversion. The expertise became easy to understand through vivid explanations and engaging Q&A sessions.
In the science exhibition hall, the children carefully observed the models of reactor units and connected the knowledge from the session with real-world applications, gaining a deeper understanding of how nuclear power generates electricity. Wen Xiaoyu, a student from Taishan Yuying Middle School, shared with us: “I used to think nuclear power was mysterious, but after today’s visit, I feel it is very safe and reliable. I want to learn more about it in the future and become part of the nuclear power development.”

Standing on the Xiangxi Observation Deck and looking out at the power generation units, Wen YanYan from Hong Kong reflected: “This experience is truly special—it not only helps children understand the future of clean energy but also allows them to witness first-hand our country’s technological strength”.
In the afternoon, the group visited the Yinxin Museum in Haikou Port of Duanfen Town and the Science Education Base of Taishan Green Grain Storage.
