“Bridge Across Culture”, as splendid and beautiful as a rainbow, connects on one end the children in remote mountainous areas and on the other end, it leads to a vast world.

In May 2019, CGN launched the "Rainbow Program" at Lingyun Lanjin Primary School, established the "White Egret Class", designed four major series of actions: "Rainbow Classroom," "Rainbow Scholarship," "Rainbow Vision," and "Rainbow Home" for left-behind children. The program aims to contribute to targeted educational assistance.

TNPJVC actively responded to the CGN's call and, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, from November 20th to 22nd, the volunteer team visited Lingyun Lanjin Primary School and Leye Xieli Primary School, bringing a wonderful experience of French culture to the children there.

During these two days, the volunteer team has organized a series of colorful campus activities around the theme of "Bridges Across Culture". Among these activities, Mr. Yoann CHOUIN, a French employee from TNPJVC, provided the children with an exceptional English class and PE class.

In the classroom, Yoann used his fluent English and expressive body language to teach children about French culture and life. From the Eiffel Tower to cheese and red wine, from croissants to baguettes, every word was a challenge, yet the children read with exceptional determination. Their eyes, full of desire and curiosity, seemed to tell Yoann: We are eager to learn about the outside world; we are willing to cross cultural bridges to pursue our dreams.

In addition to the English classes, Yoann also introduced childhood games from French children. Under the sunshine and on the playground, the children run and laughed. At this moment, cultural differences seemed to be completely eliminated, leaving only the shared joy and dreams of the children.

Yoann CHOUIN, who has been living in China for 17 years, has long regarded China as his second hometown. He reminisces fondly about his first arrival in Guangxi 17 years ago and the harsh living conditions and lack of educational resources faced by the village children at that time. Today, when he re-entered these mountainous area schools, everything before him astonished and yet reassured him. Bright classrooms, brand new desks, multimedia podiums, and reading corners filled with books - all this conveyed to him the significant changes in Chinese education.

We believe that in the future, these children will bravely cross the cultural bridge to pursue their dreams and happiness.
